Description

Original 1st printing 6&1/2 x 9&5/8" double-sided concert/event handbill for the 1966 Trips Festival, a three-day concert/event/"happening", held at Longshoreman's Hall in San Francisco, CA from 1/21-23/1966. Participants included: Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters (conducting an Acid Test, featuring the Grateful Dead), Big Brother & the Holding Company (pre-Janis), the Loading Zone and many more (see photo of reverse side for full lineup).

Design by Wes Wilson, image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 116 (plate 2.42).

Thin flat stock handbill is in very good (B/B+) condition; there are flattened horizontal/vertical folds (a number of these were folded and mailed), along with a couple of light handling dings, a soft pin-prick spot/tiny smudge or two hiding within the image area and a pair of light tape pulls and a tiny pin-prick stain on the reverse, otherwise fine... a VERY sharp-looking example of this SEMINAL early-'66 psychedelic concert/event handbill.
