Original 1st printing 14&1/4 x 20" concert poster for Quicksilver Messenger Service appearing with the Sons of Champlin and Taj Mahal and the Blue Flames at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 10/27-29/1967.
Art by Rick Griffin, image ("Sunday Funnies" or "Mornin' Papa") is # 89 in the Family Dog/Avalon series.
Medium flat index stock poster is in good/decent (B/B-) condition; there is a large vertical crease that runs from from the top margin (just above the "F" of "Family") through the image area down to the ticket strip, along with a set of tack holes, a bit of handling wear, a few tiny edge tears/dings/pressure creases scattered around the outer margin area, a moderate degree of curling to the paper and a few stray light surface smudges/pin-prick spots/thin stress bends here and there, otherwise OK... still presentable, but with a few issues.
This particular example was distributed in early 1968 through the (very short-lived) Family Dog operation in London, England; there are TWO supplemental stamps/imprints (one along the bottom left margin and another on the reverse) on this one (see photos)... first example I have EVER seen with the FD UK stamps (not in the EK guide).
