Description

Original 1st printing 21&7/8 x 33&3/4" Feyline Productions concert poster for a series of Summer 1971 concerts at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO; acts listed include: Jethro Tull (6/10 *read more about this show below), Cat Stevens (6/20), Poco with Brewer & Shipley (6/26), Stephen Stills (7/6), Chicago (7/18 & 7/20), Moody Blues (8/? -no date listed) and the Who (8/21).

Designer unknown/not credited, medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; there are tack holes in all four corners and in the top center margin, along with a trio of horizontal creases traversing the center of the poster, through "Cat Stevens" and "Jethro Tull" and just beneath "Moody Blues" and "The Who", a few light edge creases/bends scattered around the outer margin area, a touch of handling wear and a couple of stray pin-prick spots/scuffs/stress creases hiding within the image area, otherwise fine.

INCREDIBLY SCARCE early-'70's concert poster from what was SUPPOSED TO be the start of a series of regular events at Red Rocks, if not for an altercation at the (sold-out) Jethro Tull show between ticketless fans and police. The events that transpired at the Tull show led not only to the cancellation of the remainder of the season, but also a several-year ban on ALL rock concerts held at the venue.
