Official (artist-issued) mid- 1967 2nd printing 14&1/4 x 19&3/4" Berkeley Bonaparte poster for Kenneth Anger's "Lucifer Rising";
Art by Rick Griffin, medium flat index stock poster is in used (B-) condition; there is an EXTENSIVE amount of moisture-related creasing/wear on this one, along with a bit of surface dirt in the lower margin area (see photo), but it's essentially all there.
What's fascinating about this example is the hand-signed/typed letter on the reverse by Berkeley Bonaparte co-founder Louis Rapoport, somewhat obliquely referencing the "theft" of Anger's film from the Straight Theater (late September 1967), along with the promise of a Berkeley Bonaparte catalog and a unique doodle/signature (see photo).
Conditional issues aside, this is a pretty interesting period piece that references a very strange event... definitely a one-of-a-kind Griffin/Haight-Ashbury item.
