Description

Pair of original 1st printing 14 x 22" (appx.) concert posters for the (Paul) Butterfield Blues Band appearing with the Charles Lloyd Quartet and Tom Rush from 4/12-13/1968 and the Mothers of Invention (featuring Frank Zappa) appearing with the James Cotton Blues Band from 4/19-20/1968, all shows held at Bill Graham's Fillmore East in New York City.

Art by Jon Stahl and Helen Heish, images are numbers 3 (Butterfield) and 4 (Mothers) in the Bill Graham/Fillmore East series.

Medium-thin flat vellum stock posters are both in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; the Mothers poster has a 1 x 3&1/2" discoloration along the upper right margin (possibly glue residue from a price-tag sticker) and a bit of light creasing with a couple of tiny nip tears along the bottom margin, a tiny drip stain and nip tear in the top center margin and a slightly discolored area just to the left of "Fillmore" and the Butterfield poster has a set of staple holes (all four corners), a couple of tiny edge dings scattered around the outer margin area and a whisper of handling, but overall both are pretty nice-looking.

Neat little set of early (1968) Fillmore East posters!
