Description

Original 1st printing 11&1/2 x 11&1/2" (appx., matted and framed in black wood under plexiglas to 16&1/4 x 16&1/4" total size) 1970's-era silkscreen test print for a t-shirt sold at the Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin, TX.

Art by JFKLN (Jim Franklin), the piece is in pretty nice shape; from what I can see, there is a little bit of surface wear/handling and a light tape stain in the left margin, but I haven't taken it out of the frame, so I can't tell what's going on around the edges.

The central image looks pretty good- there is a slight shadow of color around the globe and around "Armadillo", presumably from a light pass to test that the piece was properly registered... tough to say! The frame has a few tiny nicks/dings around the outer edges and the plex has a couple of tiny dirt stains (that can easily be wiped off), but overall it's still presentable.

Pretty unique AWHQ item- the consignor didn't seem to remember too much about it, but it's definitely interesting. If you search "Armadillo World Headquarters t-shirt" online, a number vintage AND new shirts with this exact image come up.
