Original 1st printing 14 x 22&1/2" concert poster for an RCA Records-sponsored listening party/promotional event for Jefferson Airplane, held at Webster Hall in New York City on 1/8/1967.
Art by Wes Wilson, image is not part of the numbered Bill Graham/Fillmore series, but uses the same design/format of the BG 42 image, presumably with Bill's blessing/approval (he was managing the Airplane at the time); item is currently designated BG 42-OP-3 in the Eric King guide.
Medium vellum stock stock poster is in good/decent (B/B-) condition; the poster was tightly rolled for many years, leaving a fairly pronounced curl to the paper, along with a series of thin horizontal roll creases/stress bends traversing most of the image area, tape pulls/residue stains in all four corners, numerous tiny staple holes scattered around the image/outer margin area, a bit of corner-tip/edge creasing and a few small stains on the reverse, otherwise OK.
ULTRA-SCARCE Jefferson Airplane item from their first-ever NYC appearance. Additionally, the show featured guest appearances by Mike Bloomfield and Mark Naftalin of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band (see photo). Check out a recording of the show HERE;
