Description

Original 1st printing 14 x 20" concert poster for Quicksilver Messenger Service with Big Brother & the Holding Company (with Janis Joplin) and the Jaywalkers on 7/1/1966, the Great! Society (with Grace Slick), Sopwith Camel and the Charlatans on 7/2/1966 and the Grateful Dead with Love (featuring Arthur Lee) and Group B on 7/3/1966, all shows held at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA.

Art by Wes Wilson, image is # 14 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series.

Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in used (B-) condition; there is a LOT of wear on this one- a 6&1/2" vertical tear and several pronounced bends in the upper right quadrant, a moderate amount of surface wear (paint drips, tiny pulls and numerous pin-prick stains), tack holes with small wedges of paper missing from the top left corner tip and bottom center margin, numerous tiny surface scuffs, etc... the photo should show pretty clearly what is going on with this one.

Definitely a well-worn survivor, but all original from 1966!

As this one of only a few early Fillmore images that was not reprinted until recently (Wolfgang's reprinted it in 2021), this is piece is key to completing a full BG set.
