Description

Original 1st printing 5&1/2 x 8&1/2" boxing-style/letterpress concert handbill for legendary UK power trio Cream (Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce) appearing with the Grateful Dead at the Sacramento (CA) Memorial Auditorium on 3/11/1968.

Designer unknown/not credited, this is an ALTERNATE VERSION of the Jim Ford & Steve Murphy (Art Print) image from the Art of Rock book on page 259 (plate 3.10)

Thin flat stock handbill is in very good (B/B+) condition; there are staple holes in all four corners (a couple of them have tiny wedge tears) and in the top/bottom center margins, along with a semi-pronounced horizontal roll crease/bend traversing the upper margin area, a couple of tiny corner-tip pressure creases and a light amount of handling wear, otherwise fine.

INCREDIBLY SCARCE early-'68 Cream/Grateful Dead concert artifact from the only time they ever shared a bill. I have heard of/seen exactly ONE other example of this handbill turn up in almost thirty years, they just never surface. Read more about the show HERE:
