Original 1st printing 19 x 35" concert/event poster for Monterey International Pop Festival, held at the Monterey (CA) County Fairgrounds from 6/16-18/1967.

 Although no bands/acts are listed, the 3-day event featured appearances by: the Association, Laura Nyro, Blues Project, the Paupers, Buffalo Springfield (with David Crosby), the Byrds, Simon & Garfunkel, Steve Miler Blues Band, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Al Kooper & Friends, Electric Flag, Canned Heat, Grateful Dead, Big Brother & the Holding Company (with Janis Joplin), Jefferson Airplane, Otis Redding with Booker T. & the MG's, The Who, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Country Joe & the Fish, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Beverley, Lou Rawls, Eric Burdon & the Animals, High Masekela and the Mamas & the Papas (with Scott McKenzie).

 Thick foil-coated index stock poster is in decent/used (B/B- to B-) condition; there is a moderate degree of toning/fading to the yellow/green half-tones, along with a series of tiny staple holes in all four corners, a number of fairly pronounced creases/thin bends/handling dings scattered throughout the piece- the heaviest creasing is mostly along the upper/lower margin areas, plus a couple of pronounced horizontal bends along the left side of the poster, a bit of surface wear (tiny thin scratches, rub marks/scuffs) and a couple of minor stains on the reverse... definitely a bit of a battle-worn example, but EVERY single example I have seen of the large version has had some form or another of wear/damage; this one actually looks pretty good compared to others I have seen.

 Unlike the small-format versions (which were mostly remaindered and sold after-market), the large-format version was distributed at the event (see photo- c. 1967 Lisa Law)

 Absolutely ICONIC psychedelic image in the somewhat seldom-seen large format. This is only the fourth large-format version that I have seen since I started holding the auctions back in 2006.
