Description

Original 1st printing 11&1/4 x 17&5/8" concert poster for the Who appearing with Iron Butterfly and the Neighborhood Children at the Sacramento (CA) Memorial Auditorium on 7/8/1968.

Artist unknown/not credited, medium flat vellum stock poster is in decent/used (B/B- to B-) condition; there are a couple of small wedges (staple drag pulls) in the upper left/right corners, along with a semi-pronounced horizontal center crease, a series of splatter stains in the left margin, around the "Bu" of "Butterfly" and in the top center margin, tiny staple hole tears in the lower left/right corners, a small diagonal bend in the bottom right corner tip, a few stray pin-prick surface spots here and there, a couple of tiny thin vertical drip stains above the "o" of "Who" and along the lower right margin and a bit of surface dirt on the reverse... as the photograph illustrates, this example was removed from public display at the time of the show by the consignor, who attended the show as a teenager.

Conditional issues aside, this is a fairly scarce/hard-to-find Who poster from the Summer 1968 tour; the handbill turns up from time to time (*we have it listed separately), but this is only the third example of this poster that I have seen in almost 30 years.
