Original 1st printing 12&7/8 x 19&3/4" concert/event poster for beat poet Allen Ginsberg and Swami Bhaktivendanta appearing along with the Grateful Dead, Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) and Moby Grape in a benefit* performance (*for the San Francisco Krishna Temple), held at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA on 1/29/1967.
 
 Design by Harvey Cohen (*thanks Andy!), image ("Krishna Consciousness Comes West") is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 107 (plate 2.18).
 
 Medium flat vellum stock poster is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; there are a series of small pin-prick surface pulls ("chipping") around the outer margin area and on the reverse side, along with a couple of tiny edge nips along the left/right margins, a quartet of pin holes (all four corners), a few light handling dings here and there and a bit of toning along the reverse-side bottom margin, otherwise fine.

 Overall, a very decent-looking example of this early-1967 Avalon benefit poster with a great design and a stacked lineup.
