Original 1st printing 21&3/4 x 26&1/4" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with the Sons of Champlin and Initial Shock at the Avalon Ballroom In San Francisco, CA from 1/24-26/1969.
Art by Rick Griffin, image ("Aoxoamoxoa") is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 109 (plate 2.24) and is part of the Soundproof Presents series.
Medium-thick glossy-coated index stock poster is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; there are a couple of small (about 3/4" square) areas of surface rubbing/wear (or a printing/press anomaly- tough to say) in the upper left corner, along with a series of tiny edge dings/thin creases and a hint of suface scuffing along the left margin, a hairline-thin horizontal crease in the upper left margin, a thin bend and a tiny corner-tip nip in the upper right corner, a thin pressure crease along the lower right margin, a hint of surface wear (a few nearly-invisible pin-prick residue spots) along the top margin, a couple of VERY well camouflaged handling dings hiding within the image area and a nearly-invisible soft spot in the sun, otherwise fine.
An overall fine-looking 1st printing example of the always-popular Soundproof Aoxomoxoa poster. The colors are still bright/strong with no real evidence of fading/discoloration (a somewhat common issue with used/displayed examples).
