Original 1st printing 28 x 15" concert poster for the Shiva's Head Band appearing on 1/26/1968 and Afro Caravan appearing on 1/28/1968, both shows supported by the Strawberry Shoemaker and held at the Vulcan Gas Company in Austin, TX.

 Art by underground comix legend Gilbert Shelton ("Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers", "Wonder Warthog"), image ("Checkered Eye") is # 13 in the VG/Vulcan Gas Company series.

 Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in good/decent (B to B/B-) condition; there is a 2&1/2" tear in the lower left margin, along with a series of semi-pronounced vertical stress creases/thin bends scattered throughout the image area, a few tiny nip tears/edge nicks and creases lurking around the outer margin area, a bit of curl to the paper and a couple of light stains on the reverse, otherwise OK- a lot of the conditional flaws are fairly well hidden within the design.

 Overall, a very decent-looking example of this wild-looking early-'68 Vulcan Gas poster with a great Gilbert Shelton design.
