Original 1st printing 17&1/8 x 21&3/4" concert poster for Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) appearing with Phoenix, Freedom Highway, Colours and South Side Sound System (featuring Charley Musselwhite) at the Straight Theater in San Francisco, CA from 9/1-3/1967.

 Art by Salas, image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 202 (plate 2.228).

 Medium-thick flat index stock poster is in good (B) condition; all four corner tips have tiny diagonal surface pulls/wear, and there are thin slivers of clear tape along the top/bottom center margins, along with light handling wear, a bit of edge creasing, a few tiny pin-prick surface spots, stress creases and a thin bend or two hiding within the image area and a couple of tape pulls on the reverse, otherwise fine.

 An overall fine-looking example of this unusual poster from the legendary Haight-Ashbury ballroom featuring the one and only Janis Joplin in the headlining spot. Interesting design on this one.
