Description

Original 1st printing 14 x 20" concert/event poster (a benefit for Artistiic Reoganization Throughout San Francisco, a/k/a  A.R.T.S.), featuring Allen Ginsberg appearing with Sopwith Camel, Gary Goodrow (the Committee), the San Francisco Mime Troupe and MANY more at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA on 7/17/1966.

Art by Wes Wilson, image is not part of the numbered Bill Graham/Fillmore series (this show falls on the day after the BG 17 shows) and appears in the Art of Rock on page 152 (plate 2.75) in the "Fillmore Auditorium Benefits" chapter.

Medium flat vellum stock poster is in near mint to excellent (A-/B+ to B+) condition; aside from a thin diagonal/horizontal paper crease going through "Auditorium" (an inherent flaw with the paper that existed before it was fed into the press) and one or two nearly-invisible pinch dings hiding within the image area, it is a mostly-clean example of this fairly early (and somewhat hard-to-find) Fillmore benefit poster with a great Wes Wilson design and a wildly eclectic "only-in-the-'60's" lineup.
