Description

Original 1st printing 17 x 22" hand-pulled silkscreen concert poster for the Seventh San Francisco Blues Festival, held at the Golden Gate Park Bandshell in San Francisco, CA from 8/11-12/1979.

This edition of the annual event featured performances by Luther Tucker, Big Mama Thornton, Robert Cray, Little Joe Blue, Roy Brown, J.C. Burris, Double Trouble (featuring Lou Ann Barton and Stevie Ray Vaughan) and MANY more.

Designer (Andrew Wood) not credited, image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 342 (plate 4.35).

Medium-thick hand-pulled silkscreen poster (printed on flat oak-tag stock) is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; there is a decent sized (2&1/2") crescent-shaped bend in the upper left margin, along with a few soft surface scuffs/thin scratches, a couple of tiny edge dings scattered around the outer margin area and a couple of tiny pin-prick spots on the reverse, otherwise fine.

Great-looking late-'70's silkscreen poster from the annual Bay Area event, I don't see this one very often.
