Original 1st printing 22 x 28" large cardboard boxing-style tour blank (no show info) concert poster for a 1955 package tour, "Big Rock & Roll Show"*, a multi-act revue featuring appearances by the Chuck Berry Trio (only known image featuring this lineup), Buddy Johnson & His Orchestra, Arthur Prysock, the Nutmegs, the 4 Fellows, Ella Johnson, Al Savage, the Spaniels and exotic dancer Queenie Owens, "the Queen of Quiver and Shake" (!).
Printer unknown/not credited, thick cardboard stock letterpress poster has been professionally restored to excellent (B+) condition; the upper left corner has had about 3-4" of paper replacement from where a corner of the board was missing, in addition to assorted surface touch-ups and a few minor edge/corner-tip repairs, but overall it looks REALLY nice... there is still a touch of subtle toning and a few little surface dings here and there, but it is in perfectly displayable condition.
As I was researching this piece (not my typical fare, that's for sure), a short Google search turned up several interesting factoids- in addition to being one of the earliest known Chuck Berry posters, apparently this is the first big tour poster to feature the term "Rock & Roll".... an INCREDIBLY seminal/historic piece!
