Description

Original 1st printing 19 x 25" concert poster for It's A Beautiful Day appearing with Cold Blood, Joy of Cooking and Magic Colors at the Santa Rosa (CA) Fairgrounds on 11/21/1969.

Art by Larry Noggle, image is featured in the Art of Rock on page 230 (plate 2.333)

Medium flat vellum stock poster is in used (B-) condition; there are numerous edge tears, a missing top right corner tip, a series of vertical wedge-pull tears in the upper/lower left/right margins, a small triangilar wedge tear in the lower left part of the ticket outlet strip, heavy ceasing along the right margin, handling wear, a bit of magic-marker scrawl and pieces of clear tape on the reverse... clearly, this example has lived a rather robust life, as the photo shows- definitely a good candidate for restoration.

Conditional issues aside, this is still one of the more obscure Northern California posters from the AOR book, I have only had a couple of them pass through my hands over the years. This particular example came from legendary Bay Area store owner Sanford Tucker ("Sanford's" and "The Velvet Underground"), and was likely hung up for display at one of his stores at the time of the show.
