Original 1st printing 20 x 14&1/8" (small version) concert poster for Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) appearing with Blue Cheer and Eighth Penny Matter at the Family Dog at 1601 West Evans in Denver, CO from 9/8-9/1967.

 Art by Rick Griffin, image is # 79/D-1- the VERY FIRST image in the Family Dog/Denver series. This is the small format (OP-1 in the Eric King Guide) version.

 Medium flat index stock poster is in good/decent (B/B-) condition; the poster is moderately toned, with a set of tack/pin holes (all four corners), a couple of thin vertical roll bends traversing the image area, a series of thin stress creases and handling dings throughout, a series of edge dings/nicks along the entire outer margin area, tape pulls on the reverse... definitely a well-loved example.

 While this specimen isn't going to win any beauty contests, the small-version 1st printing has been getting increasingly difficult to come by.
