Original 1st printing 21&1/2 x 33&1/2" concert/event poster for the Ann Arbor Blues & Jazz Festival, held at Otis Spann Memorial Field in Ann Arbor, MI from 9/7-9/1973.
Design by Gary Grimshaw (photo by Tom Copi), the lineup included: Freddie King, Leon Thomas, Count Basie & His Orchestra, J.B. Hutto & the Hawks, Roosevelt Sykes and the Revolutionary Ensemble (9/7), Music of Detroit with CJQ, John Lee Hooker, Yusef Lateef, Charles Mingus, Jimmy Reed, Big Walter Horton, Ray Charles and the Raelettes and more (9/8) and the Johnny Otis Show, Ornette Coleman, Victoria Spivey, Infinite Sound, Joe Willie Wilkins and the King Biscuit Boys, Houston Stackhouse, Luther Allison, Sun Ra, Otis Rush, Homesick James, Lucille Spann, Mighty Joe Young with Carey Bell and Eddie Taylor and Hound Dog Taylor and the Houserockers (9/9).
Medium glossy-coated index stock poster is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; there are staple holes in all four corners and in the left/right margins (a couple of them have tiny wedge pulls), along with a bit of creasing along the top edge, a 3" diagonal bend and a tiny surface pull in the lower left corner, a couple of hard creases and a small edge tear in the lower right margin, a few stray edge nicks/dings and a few thin horizontal bends running along the bottom margin and a loose handling ding or two hiding within the image area, otherwise OK.
Great-looking example of the '73 Ann Arbor Blues & Jazz Festival poster.
