Original 1st printing 14 x 20" concert poster for the 6/28-7/2/1967 Grand Opening of the Western Front, featuring the Siegal-Schwall Blues Band, the Charlatans, Congress of Wonders and Bill Ham's Light Sound Dimension, plus (Sat. only) Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) and Quicksilver Messenger Service.
Art by Greg Irons, image is featured in the Art of Rock on page 192 (plate 2.203).
Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in decent (B/B-) condition; there is a large pronounced horizontal center crease with a pair of decent-sized edge splits on both the left/right sides, along with tack holes in each corner and in the bottom center margin, a bit of corner-tip creasing, a few light handling creases hiding within the image area, a small surface pull on the "Ch" of "Charlatans" and a light amount of toning, otherwise fine.
Conditional issues aside, it remains a very presentable used example of this semi-uncommon mid-'67 San Francisco venue poster with a delightful Greg Irons design.
