Pair of original 1st printing 13&3/4 x 22" (put together to make the full-sized 27&1/2 x 22" image) concert/event posters for the KFRC Magic Mountain Festival, held at Mount Tamalpais Outdoor Amphitheater in Marin County, CA from 6/3-4/1967* (postponed until 6/10-11, right before Monterey Pop- this was arguably the first large-scale outdoor rock festival.
Bands/acts listed include: Jefferson Airplane, the Doors, the Byrds, the Seeds, Miracles, Wilson Pickett, Tim Hardin, Sparrow, Country Joe & the Fish, Mojo Men, Blues Magoos, Moby Grape, Hugh Masakela, Loading Zone, Every Mother's Son, Grass Roots, Rodger Collins, Smokey & His Sister, Miller Blues Band, Tim Buckley, Blackburn and Snow, Merry-Go-Round, Kim Weston and P.F. Sloan. *not every act listed appeared and there were some additions to the lineup- Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band (with Ry Cooder), for one.
Art by Jack Hatfield, image is featured in the Art of Rock on page 227 (plates 2.317 and 2.318). The left-side poster is numbered 796/1000 (presumably by the artist)
Medium-thick flat index stock posters have been professionally restored to excellent (B+) condition; both posters have had pin-hole/paper fills in the corners, along with sealed edge tears, pressing/flattening (there are a few VERY thin pressed-out roll creases on the left side poster) and a couple of areas of color touch-up; the end result is quite nice, the set displays BEAUTIFULLY.
Over the years, I have seen individual sides show up once in a blue moon, but the full set featuring BOTH posters together is almost unheard of... needless to say, this is the very first time I have ever had the set up for sale and will be a pretty unique score for whomever wins it.
