Original 1st printing 8&1/2" square concert handbill for Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) appearing (with the Chambers Brothers- not listed) at the Matrix in San Francisco, CA from 4/4-6/1967. 

 Art by R. Lyons (not credited, central image borrowed from Heinrich Kley), image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 162 (plate 2.109).

 Thin flat stock handbill is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; there is a light to moderate amount of edge wear (a series of small dings, tiny tears and a couple of thin bends, mostly along the top margin), along with a series of light handling creases/tiny stress bends hiding within the image area, a touch of toning and a set of tape pulls on the reverse, otherwise fine.

 VERY cool-looking and somewhat hard-to-find Matrix image from the Art of Rock.
