Original 1st printing 8&1/2 x 11" concert/event flyer for beat poet Allen Ginsberg and Swami Bhaktivendanta appearing along with the Grateful Dead, Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) and Moby Grape in a benefit* performance (*for the San Francisco Krishna Temple), held at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA on 1/29/1967.
 
 Design by Harvey Cohen (*thanks Andy!), image ("Krishna Consciousness Comes West") is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 107 (plate 2.18).
 
 Thin flat stock flyer is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; there is a trace amount of paper discoloration  along the extreme top border with a couple of tiny drip marks in the left white border area, a trace amount of handling wear and a tiny edge nip in the lower right margin, otherwise fine.
 
 A SUPERB-looking example of this early 1967 Avalon benefit concert artifact, this is only the second flyer from this event that I have had up for sale in almost 15 years. Photo: c. 1967 Ben Van Meter
