Description

Original 1st printing 4&5/8 x 7" undated blank-reverse concert handbill for the weekly "Tuesday Night Jam", a local musician's gathering held at the Carousel Ballroom in San Francisco, CA during the spring of 1968.

Art by Stanley Mouse, image ("Tuesday Night Pig Jam") is featured in the Art of Rock on page 181 (plate 2.170).

Medium flat index stock handbill is in near mint to excellent (A- to A-/B+) condition; with the exception of a couple of VERY tiny corner-tip bends, it is a nice crisp/sharp example of this classic Mouse-designed Carousel image from the AOR.

According to author Rhoney Stanley in her recent book "Owsley and Me", the sleepy-eyed pig is a portrait of none other than jam host Elvin "Pigboy Crabshaw" Bishop!
