Description

 Original 1st printing 17&3/8 x 25" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with Moby Grape, Love (with Arthur Lee) and Blue Crumb Truck Factory appearing at Winterland in San Francisco, CA on 3/3/1967* (after a few false starts, this was actually the very first GD appearance at Winterland).

 Art by (Donna) Herrick, image ("The First Annual Love Circus") is featured in the Art of Rock on page 188 (plate 2.194).

 Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in very good (B/B+) condition; there are staple holes in all four corners and in the top/bottom and left/right center margins (the one in the bottom center has a small drag tear as well), along with a series of thin creases scattered along the top/bottom margins, a few thin stress bends, light handling dings and tiny pin-prick surface spots hiding within the image area, a light amount of toning and a few soft smudge marks on the reverse, otherwise it is a great-looking example of this classic early-'67 Grateful Dead image from the band's very first Winterland show.

 Check out this very informative recent interview with the artist, Donna (Herrick) Wallace-Cohen;
