Description

Original 1st printing 5&1/2 x 8" postcard-backed concert schedule handbill for the 1973 Garden State Summer Music Fair, presented by John Scher, held at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic and at Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City from 7/13-8/31/1973. Shows listed include: Sly & thye Family Stone (7/13, Capitol), Three Dog Night and T. Rex (7/26, Roosevelt), Focus (7/27, Capitol), Grateful Dead with the Band (7/30-31, Roosevelt), the Who's "Tommy" (8/10, Capitol), Santana (8/12, Roosevelt), Grand Funk Railroad (8/18, Roosevelt), the Beach Boys and Poco (8/25, Roosevelt) and the Allman Brothers Band (8/31, Roosevelt)

Design by Sokoloff Associates, Inc., medium-thin semi-gloss stock handbill is in near mint (A-) condition; aside from a tiny pin-prick spot in the lower right margin and a touch of handling (soft corner-tip bend), this example is just about as sharp as they come.

Nifty little early-'70's concert artifact with a host of great acts listed. Check out the 8/1 Dead show HERE:
