Description

Set of THREE (3) original 1st printing approximately 22&1/2 x 14" printer's color test proofs (uncut sheets of 10) blank-reverse handbills for Traffic appearing with Blue Cheer and Iron Butterfly (along with the Joshua Light Show) at the Fillmore East in New York City from 4/26-27/1968. Set consists of one black/orange proof, one pink/orange proof and one full-color/final proof

Art by (and SIGNED in black flair pen by) David Edward Byrd (*all three sheets), image is # 5 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore East series and is featured in the Art of Rock on page 160 (plate 2.102).

Medium flat vellum stock press sheets are in excellent (B+) condition overall; the black/orange sheet has a small smudge just to the left of David's signature, a small 1/4" tear in the lower right margin, a small bend in the bottom right corner tip, a bit of toning and a couple of tiny tears along the right side and a bit of handling wear, the other two sheets are in near mint (pink/orange) and excellent (full-color) shape; the full color sheet has a couple of tiny nips and a small tear along the lower right margin and a few handling dings, the pink and orange one looks almost flawless, maybe a touch of handling wear, but that's just about it.

ULTRA-unique collection of early 1968 Fillmore East artifacts, obtained indirectly from the printer's personal archives.... a total of THIRTY separate images in this lot!
