Description

Collection of three (3) original 1st printing concert handbills for a series of shows held at the Rock Pile in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Set consists of the following;

Thin flat stock 5&1/2 x 8&1/2" blank-reverse handbill for John Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters (with All-Star Band) appearing from 4/4-5/1969 and the Crazy World of Arthur Brown appearing on 4/13/1969. Design by "Mob", handbill is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; there are a series of staple/pin holes and a small pressure crease in the top center margin, along with a tiny vertical crease in the bottom center margin, a couple of tiny pin-prick surface spots/soft handling creases here and there and a pair of tape shadows on the reverse, otherwise fine.

Medium-thin flat stock 5 x 8" blank-reverse concert handbill for the Paul Butterfield Blues Band appearing with Motherlode on 4/26/1969. Designer unknown/not credited, handbill is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; there is a single pin hole in the top center margin, a couple of tiny pin-prick spots around the "u" of "Blues"  and nest to the second "e" of "Butterfield", a tiny rust stain in the top left corner and a couple of nearly-invisible handling dings hiding around the outer margin area.

Extra-thin flat stock 5&3/8 x 8&1/2" blank-reverse concert handbill for Howlin' Wolf appearing with Family on 4/19/1969 and with Ten Years After on 4/20/1969, along with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band on 4/26/1969 (*handbill also lists a film night on 4/18). Designer unknown/not credited, handbill is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; there are a pair of tack/pin holes in the top/bottom center margins, along with a soft/subtle wave to the paper, a light amount of handling wear, a couple of tiny corner-tip bends and a trace of edge toning.

Neat little set of oddball 1969 concert artifacts from the short-lived Toronto venue.
