Official 2nd (BGP-issued commemorative) 1991 2nd printing 5&7/8 x 4" blank-reverse concert handbill/card for Big Brother and the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) appearing with Tim Buckley and Albert King (plus the Joshua Light Show) at the Fillmore East in New York City on 3/8/1968. *This was the VERY FIRST Bill Graham-produced show held at the theater, and the first to be booked using the "Fillmore East" name.
Art by Charles Brandon* with a photo by Linda Eastman (McCartney), image is # 1 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore East series and is featured in the Art of Rock on page 159 (plate 2.99). (*AOR spells the artist's name ("Brandwynn") incorrectly). This version with additional type ("Thanks for Coming, Cheers, Bill") was printed after Bill's untimely death in 1991.
Medium flat index stock card is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; aside from a few fairly well-camouflaged handling dings/stress creases here and there and a touch of edge wear (a few tiny dings), it is a great-looking example of this almost-30-year commemorative card from the very first Fillmore East show.
