Description

Original 1st printing 8&1/2 x 11" concert flyer for Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention appearing with Jay Caress & Songbird (and It's A Beautiful Day- not listed) at the Gardens Auditorium in Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada) on 9/19/1970. (*also lists Edmonton on 9/18)

Designer unknown/not credited, thin flat stock flyer is in decent (B/B-) condition; there are tack/staple holes (all four corners and in the top center margin), along with a series of semi-pronounced horizontal/vertical folds (item was folded into 1/8ths and subsequently flattened), a moderatre degree of handling wear, several tiny smudges/pin-prick stains scattered througfhout the image area (both sides), a tape stain and 1" tear in the lower left margin and a few tiny edge nips scattered around the outer margin area... definitely a bit on the used side, but still intact.

Conditional issues aside, this is still a pretty hard-to-find/uncommon Zappa item, the first one of these I have seen. The reverse has a couple of great ads for local Gastown (Vancouver's "hippie district") establishments (Gassy Jack's, Jelly Beans for Jeans).
