Original 1st printing (1st Edition of 1200) 22&1/4 x 27&7/8" event poster for the 7/17/1967 opening of the Joint Show, held at the Moore Gallery in San Francisco, CA featuring music by Country Joe & the Fish and exhibited art by Rick Griffin (who did this version of the poster), Wes Wilson, Victor Moscoso, Stanley Mouse, Alton Kelley and more.
Art by the aforementioned Rick Griffin, image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 234 (plate 2.347).
Medium-thick semi-gloss coated index stock poster is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; this example exhibits a moderate degree of surface scuffing, along with a series of semi-soft pinch/handling dings and a thin stress bend or two hiding within the image area, a bit of relatively minor edge/corner-tip wear, a 1" tear in the right center margin, a bit of light moisture wear along the bottom margin and a few tiny pin-prick splatter spots in the lower right margin, otherwise fine.
An overall very decent-looking example of this oft-requested Rick Griffin poster from the infamous Joint Show. Check out Rick and Kelley conversing at the opening with Rick's Joint Show proofs clearly visible in the background. (photo c. 1967 Ted Streshinsky)
