Original 1st printing 12&7/8 x 19&7/8" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with Quicksilver Messenger Service at Governor's Hall in Sacramento, CA on 12/28/1966.
Art by Yage Firebird (Jim Carrico), image ("Beaux Arts Ball-Version 1") is featured in the Art of Rock on page 260 (plate 3.13), this is the blue ink/red paper variant (there is also black ink on rust/orange paper).
Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; there are a set of tiny pin holes (all four corners), plus a couple of tiny pin-prick rust stains on the "G" and "a" of "Goathead", a tiny amount of surface residue in the upper right margin/edge, one or two soft bends lurking around the outer margin area, a small pressure crease in the bottom left corner tip an ultra-light amount of handling wear (a stray pinch ding or two), otherwise it is a FANTASTIC-looking example of this oddball regional Dead/Quicksilver poster with eye-popping colors and a very cool Leonardo Da Vinci-inspired design.
