Original 1st printing 14 x 22" cardboard concert poster for Jefferson Airplane appearing with Quicksilver Messenger Service at California Hall in San Francisco on 4/8/1966.
Design by Bob Collins (not credited), the image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 175 (plate 2.144).
Thick cardboard stock poster is in good (B) condition; there are a series of semi-pronounced horizontal creases traversing the center of the image area, along with a set of staple holes, a 2" diagonal bend in the lower left corner, a bit of light surface rubbing and a small black mark on the "eff" of "Jefferson", a series of tiny edge/corner tip pressure creases scattered around the outer margin area, a few very light surface stains and stray pin-prick age spots, a set of light pulls and a tiny pencil scratch* on the reverse, otherwise fine.
VERY EARLY and hard-to-find Jefferson Airplane/Quicksilver poster from the dawn of the psychedelic scene in San Francisco.
*poster is marked "G. Shaw" on the reverse- the former property of the late Greg Shaw (Mojo Navigator, "Bomp!" Records).
