Description

Original 1st printing 13&7/8 x 17" concert poster for "Rockarama", a five-day series of shows held at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 3/26-30/1969.

Acts/shows listed include; Santana, It's a Beautiful Day, Lamb, Allmen Joy and Anonymous Artists of America (3/26), Cleveland Wrecking Company, Ace of Cups, the Conqueroo and Morning Glory (3/27), Melting Pot, Cleanliness and Godliness Skiffle Band, Linn County and The 4th Way (3/28), Shades of Joy, Clover, Country Weather and Frumious Bandersnatch (3/29), The Youngbloods, A.B. Skhy, Initial Shock, Alice Cooper and Pure Funk (3/30).

Art by underground comix legend Gilbert Shelton ("Fabulous Furry Freak Bros."), image is part of the Soundproof Presents/Avalon series.

Medium-thin flat "parchment" vellum stock poster is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; there are staple holes in all four corners and in the bottom center margin, plus a bit of creasing and a few tiny wedge pulls in all four corners, a fair to moderate amount of edge creasing, a few semi-soft bends around "March 28", light handling wear, a tiny edge tear or two lurking around the outer margin area and a tiny pin-prick pull on the reverse that almost breaks the paper, otherwise it is a very presentable example of this totally cool and wacky Gilbert Shelton image from the Soundproof/Avalon series.
