Description

Original 1st printing 3&7/8 x 8" blank-reverse concert/event handbill for "An American Music Show at the Rose Bowl", an all-day show sponsored by Pinnacle, featuring Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin)* appearing with Joan Baez, the Byrds, Country Joe & the Fish, Junior Wells and Buddy Guy, Wilson Pickett, Buffy St. Marie, the Everly Brothers and the Mothers of Invention (featuring Frank Zappa) at the aforementioned Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA on 9/15/1968.

Art by John Van Hamersveld and Raphael (Bob) Schnepf, image (full-color poster) is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 277 (plate 3.71). *this is the two-color thick card stock version

Medium-thick index card stock handbill is in decent (B/B-) condition; there is a moderate amount of toning covering most of the image area, along with a series of staple holes/indentations scattered around the outer margin area with a pair of semi-pronounced drag pulls in the top center margin, a light vertical curl to the card and a few light stains along the top edge.

Conditional issues aside, still a nifty little multi-act artifact from 1968.
