Description

Original 21 x 2u&1/4" Uncut printer's proof sheet featuring a pair of original 1st printing concert posters for Cold Blood appearing with the Youngbloods, Vanilla Fudge and Richie Havens at the Fillmore West and the Grateful Dead appearing with Quicksilver Messenger Service, Santana and It's A Beautiful Day at Winterland, both shows held on 12/31/1968 in San Francisco, CA.

Art by Lee Conklin, images are numbers 153 (left side) and 152 (right side) in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series.

Medium glossy coated index stock poster is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; there are a couple of surface scuffs in the lower right corner and along the right margin (a common trait with this poster), along with a couple of small pressure dings along the bottom margin, a small diagonal bend in the lower left corner tip, a couple of VERY soft (nearly-invisible) vertical roll bends that can be seen when the poster is tilted towards a light source, a light amount of handling wear and a light to moderate amount of the usual surface scratching that is commonly exhibited on this sheet, otherwise fine.

ULTRA-COOL-looking late-'68 Lee Conklin-designed pair of BG posters featuring a decidedly psychedelic take on several New Year's Eve traditions.
