Description

Original 1st printing 14 x 21" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with the Miles Davis Quintet and Stone the Crows at the Fillmore West in San Francisco, CA from 4/9-12/1970.

Art by David Singer, image is # 227 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series.

Medium glossy-coated index stock poster is in good/decent (B) condition; there are multiple staple holes in each corner, along with a couple of tiny hairline edge/corner-tip creases, a series of soft horizontal roll bends (mostly visible from the reverse), a bit of light surface wear which can be seen when the poster is tilted towards a light source, a tiny triangular razor-slice wedge pull in the "s" of "Davis", a few tiny hairline creases and thin scratches scattered around the central image area and a bit of toning on the reverse... not perfect, but not all that bad, either. Considering the placement of the staple holes and other corresponding conditional issues, this example looks like it may have been posted for public display at the time of the shows, but I can't confirm.

Any way you slice it, an ICONIC David Singer-designed image from a historic pairing at the Fillmore West.
