Original 1st printing 8&1/2 x 11" concert flyer for "A Tribute to Dr. Strange", the VERY FIRST Family Dog event, featuring Jefferson Airplane, the Great Society (featuring Grace Slick), the Charlatans and the Marbles at Longshoreman's Hall in San Francisco, CA on 10/16/1965.
Art by Alton Kelley, image pre-dates the Family Dog numbering system, but has been designated FD-I in the Eric King guide (this version is on yellow stock, FD-I-OHB-D).
Thin flat stock flyer is in decent/used (B/B- to B-) condition; there is a fairly large/prominent tape pull on the reverse, which results in a bit of thinning to the paper around the top center part of the image area (including a tiny hole in the top center border); aside from that, there are semi-flattened horizontal/vertical folds, a couple of staple hole pull in the lower right part of the image area, a few thin stress bends/handling dings throughout and a soft diagonal bend in the upper right corner... definitely a bit on the used side, but still fairly presentable.
Conditional issues aside, as a 53+ year-old paper artifact from the FIRST Family Dog event, the historical importance can not be understated on this one... a remarkable piece from a pivotal moment in time, that's for sure.
