Original 1st printing 17 x 21" concert poster for a Los Angeles Free Clinic benefit, held at the Aquarius Theatre in Hollywood, CA on 3/31/1969. Participants listed include: Jethro Tull (1st Los Angeles appearance), Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention (with Lowell George- see photo), Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band (the first and one of the only live performances by the "Trout s Replica" lineup), (Doug) Dillard and (Gene) Clark, Linda Ronstadt, Southwind, Illinois Speed Press, Buddy Miles Express, Red Beans & Rice, Sawaba African Dancers and Chicago Transit Authority.
Design by Fitzpow! Graphics, medium-thick vellum stock poster is in good to decent (B to B/B-) condition; there are staple holes/pulls/tiny stains /wear in all four corners and in the top/bottom center margins, along with a fair amount of edge wear (several small tears, creases, etc.), light toning, a bit of handling wear/light creasing, a few stray surface smudges and small stains here and there and a series of thin vertical creases along the left margin... I am almost 99% certain this example was removed from public display at the time of the shows, it displays a lot of corresponding wear and tear.
INCREDIBLY COOL and HIGHLY uncommon Los Angeles benefit concert poster from a well-used (to this very day) venue... not to mention the WILD lineup, highlighted (according to many) by the Beefheart set.
