Description

Original 1st printing (union logo #72) 14 x 20&1/4" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with the Mothers of Invention (featuring Frank Zappa) and Quicksilver Messenger Service at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA from 6/3-4/1966.

Art by Wes Wilson, image is # 9 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series.

Medium flat vellum stock poster has been professionally restored to excellent (B+) condition; there are a series of ultra-tiny pin-prick tape residue spots scattered along the bottom center margin (masking tape removal), along with a series of TINY pin-prick-sized surface spots around the "ger" of "Messenger" and in the right center margin of the image area that have been fixed up and a light horizontal tape shadow (more masking tape removal), a small brown drip stain and slightly faded "Double-H Press" stamp on the reverse, otherwise it is a VERY sharp/crisp example of this VERY early Fillmore poster.

This image marks the Grateful Dead's first appearance on a numbered Fillmore poster.
