Description

Original 1st printing 16&5/8 x 21&7/8" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with the New Riders of the Purple Sage at Hill Auditorium on the campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI on 12/15/1971.

Art by Gary Grimshaw, image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 393 (plate 4.187).

Medium-thick vellum stock poster is in good/decent (B to B/B-) condition; there are several tack holes in the top margin, with a tiny 1/4" wedge pull out of the upper right corner tip, along with a series of semi-camouflaged bends/creases scattered throughout the image area (most of these can be seen much more prominently on the reverse side), a pair of thin diagonal bends in the lower right corner, a hint of toning and a couple of light pulls on the reverse, otherwise fine.

A very presentable (if slightly on the used side) example of this classic Grimshaw Grateful Dead poster, most of the conditional issues aren't all that obvious. Check out a very crisp-sounding soundboard recording of the show HERE:
