Description

Original 1st printing 9&1/2 x 12&1/4" oversized concert flyer/mini-poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with Fleetwood Mac (featuring Peter Green) and the Flock at A Warehouse in New Orleans, LA from 1/30-31/1970 (*additional "bust benefit" show held on 2/1/1970). (*also lists upcoming appearances by Chicago Transit Authority, Sly & the Family Stone, Country Joe & the Fish, Iron Butterfly, Pacific Gas & Electric, Poco, Rotary Connection, Canned Heat, Blues Image, the Band, Three Dog Night and Johnny Winter)

Artist unknown/not credited, medium-thin semi-gloss stock flyer is in good/decent (B/B-) condition;  there is an approximately 3/4 x 1/2" diagonal wedge of paper missing from the upper right corner/edge, along with a 1&1/2" tear in the top center margin (sealed on the reverse with clear tape), a number of tiny edge dings and little nip tears scattered around the outer margin area, pin/staple holes in all four corners, a couple of thin diagonal bends going across the upper left margin, a pair of diagonal bend in the lower left margin, a few stray handling dings and tiny creases here and there... definitely a bit on the used side, but still mostly there.

Conditional issues aside, the historical significance of these shows in Grateful Dead-lore can not be understated, as it was in New Orleans during this very run of shows that the Dead and their associates (including Owsley "Bear" Stanley) were taken into custody by NOLA's finest in a bust that inspired Robert Hunter's lyrics in the song "Truckin'" ("Busted down on Bourbon Street, set up like a bowling pin..."); it would be another 10 years before the Dead returned. The additional "bust benefit" show on 2/1 featured a VERY inspired "Turn on Your Lovelight" jam with Fleetwood Mac's Peter Green, stream it HERE:
