Original 1st printing 5&1/2 x 8&1/2" blank-reverse (hand-addressed and mailed with a cancelled 6 cent stamp) concert handbill for the February 1971 schedule of shows held at the Matrix in San Francisco, CA. Shows listed include: Jerry Garcia and Merl Saunders (2/2-3), John Fahey (2/4-6), Boz Scaggs (2/10-11) and Larry Coryell (2/16-17)

 Art by Randy Tuten, image is featured in the Art of Rock on page 162 (plate 2.106), this is a one-color (black) monochrome handbill.

 Medium flat index card stock handbill is in very good (B/B+) condition; there  are tack holes in the top center margin, on the number "5" (just below "phone"), on the second "a" of "Garcia" and just above the "y" of "Fahey", along with a bit of light handling wear around the edges, a few tiny pin-prick dots (ink bleed) just to the left of "John", a soft bend in the lower right margin and a slight scuff on the reverse side, otherwise fine.

Fairly uncommon early-'71 Garcia/Saunders artifact from one of their earliest shows, and the only MAILED example I have ever seen. *address covered for privacy
