Pair of original 1st printing blank-reverse (one hand-addressed and mailed) concert handbills for the 8/11-9/5/1970 and 11/10-28/1970 schedules of shows held at the Matrix in San Francisco, CA.
Acts listed include Charlie Musselwhite (8/11-12), Harvey Mandel (8/13-15), Big Brother (8/18-19), Siegal-Schwall Blues Band (8/26-27), Lovecraft (9/3-5), Norman Greenbaum (11/10-14), John Lee Hooker (11/17-18), Rambiln' Jack Elliott (11/20-21) and the Jerry Hahn Brotherhood (11/24-28);
Art by Mark Behrens, the August handbill is approximately 6 x 8&3/8" (margins have all been hand-trimmed) is on thin flat stock, and is in used (B-) condition; in addition to the edge trimming, there is a bit of light handling wear, a couple of soft horizontal roll bends and a bit of edge/corner-tip creasing along the upper left/lower right margins.
The November schedule (with hand-addressed and stamped reverse) is on medium flat index card stock and is in very good (B/B+) condition; there are tack holes in the upper left/right margins, a tiny nip tear in the left margin, a hint of handling wear and a few thin vertical bends stretching along the left side.
Neat little pair of late-1970 Mark Behrens Matrix artifacts.
