Description

Original 1st printing 8&1/2" x 13&5/8" (bottom margin trimmed by appx. 1/4") oversized blank-reverse concert flyer for "Barbeque '67", an all-day show held at the Tulip Bulb Auction Hall in Spalding, Lincolnshire, England on 5/29/1967, featuring performances by the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream (featuring Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce), Pink Floyd (with Syd Barrett), the Move, Geno Washington & the Ram Jam Band, Zoot Money & His Big Roll Band and Sounds Force Five.

 Medium flat vellum stock letterpress/boxing-style flyer has been restored to good (B) condition; there has been quite a bit of surface touch-up on this example; if you hold it up to a light source, you can see numerous bends/creases, a couple of tiny tears and a random soft stain or two that have been (mostly) obliterated/repaired... but you can definitely tell this one has had a bit of work done, particularly on the lettering. Still looks quite presentable, if a bit of a "Frankenstein".

 Most existing copies suffer from extensive wear and tear from being picked up off the venue's dirt floor- I have had a couple of these over the years from different sources, all of them had almost identical issues.

 This example originally came (I believe) from a small stash of flyers that had been held since the show by a member of the support group (Sounds Force Five).

 An EPIC show, in terms of never-before/never again lineups... read more about the event (including first hand-recollections) HERE;
