Description

Original 1st printing 4 x 9" (folds out to 4 x 16") advance mail-order ticket brochure for the Atlantic City Pop Festival, held at the Atlantic City (NJ) Racecourse from 8/1-3/1969.

Mailer lists appearances by: B.B. King, Canned Heat, Chicago, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Iron Butterfly, Tim Buckley, Janis Joplin, the Byrds, Johnny Winter, Joni Mitchell, Jefferson Airplane, Crazy World of Arthur Brown, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Three Dog Night, the Moody Blues, Mother Earth, Santana (Blues Band), Booker T. & the MG's, Hugh Masekela, American Dream, Little Richard, Butterfield Blues Band, Sir Douglas Quintet, Mothers of Invention, Lighthouse, Dr. John the Night Tripper, Joe Cocker and the Buddy Rich Big Band (*most, but not all acts appeared- two cancellations were CSN and the Moody Blues)

Medium-thin textured index stock mailer is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; there are three (slightly worn) factory folds (as issued), along with a pair of half-circle sticker remnants (also as issued, although the sticker has obviously been split), a light surface scuff above the girl's head ad a couple of very soft smudges and light handling creases here and there, otherwise fine.

Very neat little original concert artifact from the OTHER large East Coast festival held in August of 1969 (2 weeks before Woodstock), apparently this event came off very smoothly. Check out several minutes of audience-shot footage of the event HERE:
