Description

Original 1st printing 6&1/4 x 11" oversized blank-reverse handbill for the Palace of Fine Arts Festival, held at the PFA in San Francisco, CA from 8/30-9/2/1968.

Handbill is for the Saturday 8/31 afternoon/evening shows, and lists appearances by: Lamb, Linn County, A.B. Skhy, Ace of Cups, H.P. Lovecraft and Quicksilver Messenger Service (afternoon) and John Handy and His Concert Ensemble/Orchestra, Big Mama Thornton & the Hound Dog Band and the Steve Miller Band.

Design by San Andreas Fault (Tad Hunter), image is featured in the Art of Rock on page 205 (plate 2.238).

Medium-thin glossy stock handbill is in near mint to excellent (A-/B+ to B+) condition; aside from a couple of ULTRA-tiny pin-prick surface spots (light surface scuffing), a light crease/bend in the upper right margin and a whisper of light handling wear, it is a VERY sharp example of this somewhat elusive multi-act/festival handbill from the Art of Rock.

First one of these to pass through!
