Original 1st printing 17 x 22&1/4" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with Quicksilver Messenger Service from 1/26-27/1968 and the Charles Lloyd Quartet appearing with Shyamadas (Ravi Shankar's student disciple) from 2/2-3/1968, all shows held at Eagles Auditorium in Seattle, WA. (*also lists the Fugs coming on 2/9-10)
Art by John Moehring, the image (black and white version) is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 249. *according to the consignor, this example was the box-office display copy and was very likely hand-colored by the artist.
Medium flat vellum stock poster is in very good (B/B+) condition; aside from the aforementioned hand-coloring (in art markers) there are small clusters of tiny tack/pin holes in all four corners, along with individual pin holes in the bottom center/right center margins, a few light handling creases/thin bends scattered along the upper margin area, a thin crescent-shaped bend in the upper right corner/margin and a thin horizontal bend along the lower right margin, otherwise OK.
A VERY unique-looking (and next-to-impossible-to-find) Eagles Auditorium Dead/QMS poster from the legendary early-'68 Pacific Northwest run. Check out the 1/27 Dead set HERE:
